Tuesday's White Pen Projects....

Christine used her Sakura white pen to doodle borders throughout her layout. She also used it to add white to her lettering.

Sara used her white pen to add fake stitching to the blue paper, and outlined her title letters to give them added dimension.

Alanna used her white pen to draw an outline on her card and frame her sentiment.

Annie made a card for her husband whose birthday falls on 31 Aug 10 (Tuesday). Tough guy he is, Barry Bear is just perfect for this card. She uses Uniball signo white pen to write the sentiment :).

Brenda used her Uniball Signo white pen (her favorite!) for the page border, and for the penwork on the photo mat, blue circle, and diecut flower. It's the first time she's used the white pen on kraft cardstock, but she's sure to try it again because she likes the look!

Wendy used a white pen and a white crayon to doodle on her "chalkboard" background paper.

Monday's White Pen Projects...

For the white pen challenge, Kim used her pen to doodle some ovals onto the black cardstock. Then she journaled all around the edges of the paper.

Angie used a white Prismacolor pencil to "stitch" around the edges of her Halloween wall hanging. She also added a little white around her letters to make them look spooky.

Deanne LOVES using her white pen. And thanks to a past Practical Scrappers challenge she purchased one and has never put it down! She used her Gelly Roll pen to do faux stitching around the outside of the card as well as around the sentiment.

This Week's Challenge is Lace Cardstock!

Here's one we haven't done in awhile now, lace carstock! I was so inspired this week by what all of our designer's did with the lace cardstock, that it really got my wheels turning! Lots of great tips and tricks from all of them. So, pull out those fancy sheets that you've already bought or make your own. However you decide to do it, just be creative, have fun, and be practical!

This is the last week for our August sponsor, Sassy Studios Designs. They will again be offering up a choice of a digital image to the grand prize winner of the weekly challenge. That also means this will be the last week you will see their images being featured by some of our talented designers. A big thank you to Sassy Studios Designs for sponsoring us this month!

To be eligible for this week's prize you have until Saturday, August 28, 2010 @ 5pm EST to load your project in the Inlinkz below.

Friday's Lace Cardstock Projects

Amanda, used a lace card stock ribbon on her frame and a Fabulous digi from our sponsor this month Sassy Studio Designs .

*We'd also like to note that this is Amanda's last week with us at Practical Scrappers. She has been a true asset to our team and she will surely be missed. We wish you the very best Amanda!*

Erin Mc had to dig deep in her stash to find this piece of purple lace cardstock by K & Company. She used a piece of black cardstock as the base, added the striped paper, a sentiment, and some bling for a very easy, but pretty card.

Jessi used a Martha Stewart border punch to make the lace border for this chalkboard.  She used a digital stamp for this month's sponspor Sassy Studio Designs.

Melissa used lace cardstock to create a background for a a square card. She trimmed the lace cardstock to the correct size, then used spray adhesive to glue it all down.

Tish actually didn't own any lace cardstock, but made her own "faux" lace cardstock using a Cuttlebug die and placing the diecuts next to each other as a layer on her card.

Thursday's Lace Cardstock Projects

Erin first used a sheet of lace cardstock from KI Memories, and a few colors of Glimmer mist to create the background for her page. When she removed the lace, she then cut a strip to create the border of stars under her photos, and outlined some of the shapes to make them pop.

Pia used KI memories´ lace cardstock "Apples Dashing" in the background of her layout. She inked it up a little with distress ink "Brushed corduroy" from Tim Holtz to add a little dimension on the apples. Title in English: "Keep it together".

Amy used her Cricut and Storybook Cartridge to create the lace cardstock background for this hummingbird layout.

Penny used the Sassy Studios "Jumping in Leaves" digital stamp and colored her with Martha Stewart color pencils. She cut out the figure and placed her in front of the lace lattice background, which was  cut using her Cricut and the French Manor cartridge.

Wednesday's Lace Cardstock Projects

Kerri created this fall card using the "Falling Leaves" image from our sponsor, Sassy Studios Designs, that she colored with Copics. She also used her Martha Stewart "Double Loop Border Punch" to create her own lace cardstock that she used as borders on the top and bottom of her card.

Jessica uses her lace cardstock on a chipboard butterfly to add dimension to her layout.

Gladys managed to find a lace cardstock from KI memories which she bought long ago and create a card. The black cardstock background made the lace stand out and she used border punch, ribbon, buttons and a stamp image as a focal point. What a bright colorful card to cheer a friend up!

Tuesday's Lace Cardstock Projects

Sara used die cut apple cardstock to add color to the while back ground on her layout.

Alanna used a Martha Stewart border punch to create the lace look for a fun and cheery card.

Wendy used snowflake lace cardstock, sprayed with Sparkle and Frost Shimmer Mists.

Annie had fun dolling up gorgeous Reading Rachel from Sassy Studio who is chilling out this week. Colored in Copic and paper piecing, gives Rachel a variety of shades and dimension. She had used this pretty laced patterned cardstock with a distress doily as background and blinged them up with some chipboards.

In the past, Brenda often stayed away from lace cardstock because she felt the designs sometimes overpowered her pictures. This time, though, she went for a tone-on-tone look, using red paper lace backed with red cardstock, to get a more subtle but still interesting background.

Monday's Lace Cardstock Projects

Kim used a scrap piece of lace cardstock cut to a 6 X 6 size for this card. She spritzed it with some Pearlz Glimmer Mist for an extra touch of bling. She ran it through her big xyron to adhere it to a bamboo sheet of cardstock.

Deanne used her only piece of lace cardstock. Made by Making Memories, it has been in her stash for over a year. She also ran it through her Cuttlebug using an Oval Nestie.

Corinna used her Pazzles Inspiration cutting machine to make a spider web lace cardstock. She then cut it down to fit her 8.5x11 page.

Angie used her Cricket & Gypsy to make her own lace cardstock. Cutting clouds in various sizes & places on a blue 6x12 piece of cardstock. She took the negitive blue cardstock, attached it to a piece of white cardstock letting the clouds show through. Then inking the edges of the clouds that were cut out. Then she added them to the lace cardstock for depth and texture.

This Week's Challenge is Stitching!

I'm going to be honest here, I loved stitching until I did my project for this week and broke not one, but two sewing machines while trying to create my project. But you know, we are practical ladies here, so if you don't have a machine (or you broke yours, too) there is always faux stitching or hand stitching that you can resort to. Just show us how you like to incorporate stitching in your projects for a chance at our weekly prize.

Our August Sponsor, Sassy Studios, will be offering up a choice of a digital image to the grand prize winner of the weekly challenge. You will continue to see some of their images used in projects by our design team members throughout these last two weeks of August! Stop in and check out their images -- they are just fabulous to work with!

You will have until Saturday, August 21, 2010 @ 5pm EST to enter your projects in the Inlinkz below!

Friday Stitching Projects

Amanda used her sewing machine to create the pink zig zag stitch and the black straight stitch around her card.

Lisa B made this card by welding her image using Cricut Design Studio and the Winter Woodland cartridge. She used two types of snowflakes and layered them with pop dots to give it dimension. She then added some stitching on her sewing machine as well as faux stitching with her white pen.

For this layout, Erin Mc. used both machine stitching and a pre-stitched background paper from We R Memory Keepers. The patterned paper is also from We R Memory Keepers, the Vintage Blue collection. This sketch is from Julie Bonner.

This was Jessi's first time stitching on paper! She kept it simple and added a zig-zag stitch between the patterned papers. She also use a digi stamp from Sassy Studios Design.

Thursday Stitching Projects

Erin chose the placement for her photos then sketched the design for the leaves and berries. She pre-pierced the holes and hand stitched with DMC embroidery floss to create a subtle texture on this layout.

Pia used the design ruler from Tim Holtz and a paper piercer from Bazzill to make holes in her paper. She then used Karen Foster´s Scrapper´s Floss and hand stitched on her layout.

Title in English: Cool Guy

Penny used dark pink, light pink, green and white embroidery floss to create these prick and stick roses. She loves roses, but says "when you sew them on cards, they STILL have thorns. :0)"

For the stitching challenge, Amy hand stitched around the inside of the scalloped circle. She also did some faux stitching around the outside of the layout and around the edge of the strip of paper behind the pictures.
